Located
on the border of Anjou (Angers) and Touraine (Tours, Chinon)
in the western part of France, on the river Loire,
one of the last unspoiled rivers in Europe, this area is specially
famous for the mildness of its climate, benefiting from the
end of the ocean breeze, for its world famous castles and
the richness of its history.
Fontevraud
Royal Abbey, the most extensive
monastic building in Europe, very closeto La Vignole,
is still alive from the memories of Aliénor d'Aquitaine
and Richard Lionheart.

The
groundfloor sitting room, warmly decorated with antique furniture
and drawings, is the place to hibernate in the winter in the
warmth of a large fireplace, with a book and a glass of local
Saumur-Champigny or a chosen single malt.
